Beiliu People's Hospital was established in November 1933. After more than 80 years of development and the solidarity, hard work, and arduous entrepreneurship of several generations of Peking University doctors, the hospital has developed into a national tertiary comprehensive hospital and baby friendly hospital that integrates medical nursing, teaching and research, emergency rehabilitation, and preventive health care. It is also the second batch of assistant general practitioner training bases in Guangxi. According to the "China Hospital Competitiveness Report" released by the Hong Kong Ailipi Hospital Management Center, Beiliu People's Hospital has been ranked among the top 100 county-level hospitals in China and the top 30 hospitals in Guangxi Province for five consecutive years.

The hospital covers an area of 180 acres, with over 1170 open beds. In 2018, there were 845000 outpatient and emergency visits, 54500 discharges, and 9000 surgeries. It has 120 emergency centers, stroke centers, breast disease diagnosis and treatment centers, critical care centers for pregnant and postpartum women, critical care centers for newborns, hemodialysis centers, chest pain centers, radiotherapy centers, 3 outpatient departments, 37 inpatient wards, 12 medical technology departments, and 30 administrative and logistics functional departments. There are over 1700 employees, including more than 1240 health technicians and 190 senior professional titles.

The hospital has over 1100 medical equipment including GE1.5T MRI, Varian Medical Linear Accelerator, GE/Siemens 16 row whole-body CT, Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA), Laparoscopic System, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy System, Color Doppler Ultrasound Diagnostic Protocol, Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy, Arthroscopic Surgery System, Central Monitoring System, Holmium Laser Treatment Machine, Autologous Blood Recovery Machine, and Fully Automated Biochemical Analyzer, with a total fixed asset of 480 million yuan.
